Spaghetti & meatballs is the most famous “Italian” dish  outside of Italy, but in Italy POLPETTE (meatballs) are served on their own as a SECONDO (main course). Polpette are ground meat balls, flavored with other ingredients such as ham and mortadella, seasoned with different spices, coated in breadcrumbs and fried.
