  1. Oh wonderful! Is there a spiced pumpkin cake in there? I grew up in Pennsylvania and the markets at Lancaster and around the south-eastern part of the state were always full of PA Dutch treats. The Germanic influence even showed up at school where in the 60s we had soft pretzels at morning break! I loved that. MLT

      1. Pumpkin Pie is good, but I’m talking about a Pumpkin Cake. Must dig our recipe to share. It’s Autumn here in Australia so my thoughts have turned to spiced things…

  2. My grandmother of Emmaus Pa,and Kutztown handed this book down to my mother and then on to me. Sadly it is lost and I have been looking for one for years. I now live in florida and am missing shoo fly pie, funny cake, crumb cake etc. Does anyone know if it is still in print or where I could find one? Thanks. How we 3 generations used this cookbook. I don’t know if they still cook that way in Pa. dutch Country, but I am almost ready to take a trip just to eat at a Grange (if they still exist), the authentic restaurants in Lehigh, Berks, Bucks, Lancaster County. Most of Florida food is blah. I couldn’t wait to move from Pennsylvania, mostly to escape the weather. “You don’t know what it’s got til it’s gone1” Was koma du?
