Larousse Gastronomique by Prosper Montagne' (1961, Crown Publishers INC)

I always told my three years daughter that books are precious, but this one is a NE PLUS ULTRA.
Everyone who love to cook should have this book.
Here is the official description :
“The first american edition 8500 recipes and 1000 illustrations This is the internationally famous Bible of cooking descriptions of cooking processes full details about all foods their nature and quality and how to cure treat and preserve them the history of food and cooking articles on table service banquets food values and diet.”

Highly Recommend!

  1. Hi there,
D’Italia foods, an importer of fine Italian food in Australia, are the first to exclusively offer kiarella torrone outside of Italy. We are currently under the process of growing our customer base. If you are interested in having a closer look, search for kiarella handmade Italian nougat. You will notice that we have also upgraded our packaging. Drop us an email if you have any questions!

  2. Hi Ale,

If it would not be too much of an imposition could you possibly tell me which printing of the first American edition of Larousse Gastronomique your copy happens to be? It should be on the inside leaf with the copyright. I have a chance to purchase a copy on the internet that mentions the fleurs-de-lis on the cover but doesn’t state which printing and I’d like to get an early printing.

    Many Thanks
    Don
