
A couple of years ago I had the “honor” to visit one of the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen…Lisbon (portugal). I was amazed by the beauty, the history and the food of this city and here I discovered one of the best pastry shop : Pasteis The Belem.
Belem is an historic small village near Lisbon, where the Portugal’s caravels sailed off to conquer the great unknown.
They started to bake Pasteis de Nata (small creamy egg based custard tarts ) in 1837, and their ancient secret recipe remained secret and unchanged to the present day.
